ny_shelly: Hi Theresa, oooh lucky girl a new Dell laptop!! That's awesome! Hey, 43 pounds lost is nothing to sneeze at. I know what you mean about the "belly fat" - yeah I got it too. Boobs melting, legs, but that dang belly! Hang in there - try to do your exercises at least 3x/week!!

Theresa: Go to www.bunco.com . It's a great game I play once a month with a group of nurses. Nice to get away with the girls and let our hair down. We take turns hosting at our houses, no men or children allowed, and everyone wins a prize every month!

Theresa: I started at the healthclub on base yesterday,will do M-W-F workouts there, concentrating on my abs, because damn-it, I know there under the fat somewheres!

ny_shelly: Hi Theresa, I'm glad you don't have to get a procedure every time! Keep up the great work and smile!!

Theresa: No operation is needed to tighten. I have a port in my abdomen under the skin, and he just inserts a needle into it, and can add or remove water as necessary. It's very easy and just takes a few minutes. I had the band tightened on Jan. 4th, and will have it tightened again on Feb. 16. It can be done up to 4 times a year as needed.

ny_shelly: Hey, you didn't say if you had your band tightened. If they did, did you have to get an operation to do that? Congratulations on your success!!

Theresa: I'm hanging in there. Thanks for all the support you guys give me. I wish we could all meet once a month and celebrate our sucesses! LOL

April: Girl, I know where you're coming from with the lack of support.

You just keep on doing what you're doing and ignore their invitations to buffets. Sooner or later, they'll get the point! This is something you need to do for yourslef...so don't give up and don't give in!!

Today is finally here!

It's finally here. Mudbug season officially starts here in Shreveport/Bossier tonight. I am so excited, I look like this .

Wondering about getting the lap band. I was reading your blog since I am the height weight that you were before the surgery. What do you weigh now? What weightloss methods did you try before you settled on the lap band? My husband thinks that it's the easy way out...What would you say to him?

I weight 169 now. Before my band, I had bobbed back and forth in a 20 pound range for YEARS! I had done weight watchers, CURVES, health clubs, watched sugars, fats, carbs. You name it and I tried it. Many people are fat, and it is totally their own fault. But just the same, many are fat and it is NOT their fault. People have to understand that lap band is NOT, I repeat NOT gastric bypass. It is possible to lose nothing with a band. All it is is an aide that helps your brain say "OK, I've had enough now". I encourage you to do what feels right to you. Go to a seminar and listen, go to lap band rep one on one and let them explain it to you. Maybe it's not for you, maybe it is. But either way it must be your decision completely, and your husband can quite frankly, parton my language, but he can go to hell if he does not back you on whatever your decision is.
